In case of problems check the status of your connections first.
- Type in the command "ping 127.0.0.1" in a MS/DOS window to check the PC network card.
- If the message is not "Reply from 127.0.0.1 bytes=32 time=x ms TTL=64" check the configuration of your network card and make sure that it works.
- If the message is "Reply from bytes...time...TTL... ", the card works and gives a reply time, go to point 2.
- Type in command "ping 172.16.20.78" when 172.16.20.78 is the IP address of your PC.
If you do not receive the right message
- Check all physical connections of your PC: cable, connections to HUB, connection to the power supply network.
- Check the TCP/IP configuration of your PC in Windows.
If you receive a positive reply, go to point 3.
- Type in the command "ping S44XXXXX" to check the connection between the PC and your iSeries (replace S44XXXXX by the symbolic name of your iSeries or its IP address):
If you do not receive the right message:
- Check the connection of the iSeries to the power supply network (cables, plugs...) and make sure that TCP/IP has been started on the iSeries, then go to point 4.
If you receive a positive reply, go to point 5.
- In a iSeries session, type in "ping '172.16.3.1'", when 172.16.3.1 is the IP address of your iSeries.
Check the reply on this sending (display the details of the message at the bottom received with F1 on the message field and then press F10 for the details).
- If the message is "No responses from...", check if TCP is started on the iSeries and check the iSeries configuration.
- If the message is "Connection verification ...successful", the connection PC<->iSeries should be established.
- If not, go to point 5.
- Check the IP addresses and the masks allocated to the PC and to the iSeries and check the configuration again.
- Check the simbolic name and the IP address of your iSeries and the availability:
- in the "HOSTS" file. On your PC if it is used.
- or in the DNS of your network. In this case ask your system administrator if your are using the DNS.
- Access filter:
If your PC network is equipped by a firewall or a Proxy server, check the corresponding configuration (access rights).
- Make sure the HTTP server is in working conditions
Type in the command "WRKTCPSTS *CNN" and check the status of the HTTP server. In the column "Local port" the port 'www-http' or 'www' or the figure '80' must be available and the status must be 'listen'.
- Make sure that your HTTP configuration is valid in HTTP configuration iSeries of the documentation "Installation - Start-up". If your HTTP server still doesn't work, call your IBM support.
In case of a network with Proxy server, contact your administrator and deactivate temporarily the Proxy to check this way if the Proxy causes the error. See error "Java I/O exception cannot connect to remote post".
This generally appears with a Proxy server: this means that it is not or not correctly configured. In this case go to Options Internet of your browser and:
- either tick "do not use Proxy server" if you do not have any and the browser will no longer search;
- or configure it with the right reference IP address to ensure correct function.

The problems are shown either on the 'htm' page, or in the queue of the QTCP messages. You must also check in this queue, if the server ORDSRV2TCP or ORDSRV2TST is active.
To carry out this verification:If you are in Production mode:
Check if the server ORDSRV2TCP is active by the message " Server ORDSRV2TCP active on port 3011 " (type the command "DSPMSG QTCP").If you are in Test mode:
Check if the server ORDSRV2TST is active by the message " Server ORDSRV2TST active on port 3012 " (type the command "DSPMSG QTCP").If the server (ORDSRV2TCP or ORDSRV2TST) is not active,
If you are in Production mode:
Check if the command "MINOSWEB2/MINOSWEB MODE(*PROD)" (2) has been carried out and MINOS Web is started on the iSeries or if the command has been carried out during start-up of the iSeries if it has been shut down.If the message " Error : Server ORDSRV2TCP not started on port 3011. A TCP/IP application already uses this port, or this server has already been started." is displayed in the QTCP message queue:
- That means that MINOS Web has been started minimum two times: starting MINOS Web corresponds to an interactive start of a job submit.
ORDSRV2TCP (Program LM0200C) is the MINOS Web server for production mode; it occupies by default the port 3011. If it is started a second time, the new job will be ignored because the port is already occupied: the second start will fail.OR
- It is because the port 3011 is occupied by another TCP/IP application. In this case the port 3011 cannot be used, because it is already occupied. Therefor you must modify the server configuration and change the port value.
Note: this may occur, if you are using version 1 of MINOS Web which occupies the port 3011.If you are in Test mode:
Check if the command "MINOSWEB2/MINOSWEB MODE(*TEST)" (2) has been carried out and MINOS Web is started on the iSeries or if the command has been carried out during start-up of the iSeries if it has been shut down.If the message " Error : Server ORDSRV2TST not started on port 3012. A TCP/IP application already uses this port, or this server has already been started." is displayed in the QTCP message queue:

Note:
If the messages of the QTCP queue have been deleted, check the availability of the servers with the command 'WRKACTJOB'.Example of a message displayed by the applet if the server has not been started:java.io.IOException: A connection with a remote host was closed
The files (DATQ or DTAARA) must be deleted and the server be re-started.
To do this, type the command "STRPDM" choose option 2 "Object management", then enter the library MINOSWEB2 (2). The objects list is displayed. Now enter in 'Display from' "ORD*": delete the objects ORDSRV2TCP type *DTAQ and *DTAARA.

The connection to the iSeries passes a Firewall which recognises the port 80 but not the port 3011 (production mode) or 3012 (test mode). The HTML page is load but not the sign-on screen. If you are using a 'TCP/IP mapping', verify with the administrator of your Firewall of the access to port 3011 or 3012 is redirected to the iSeries for the same reason as the port 80. Check also, if the management filters of the Firewall authorize the input and output of the IP packets on the port 3011 or 3012.
if you receive a message like "Java lang exception. Java.net.ConnectException: connection refused" and you work with a Proxy server, you must disconnect the server for the local addresses.
With Internet Explorer:Go to "tools" of Internet Explorer
then to "Internet options",
click on tab "connections"
then select button "LAN parameters";
click button "Advanced.. ";
activate the button "do not use Proxy with the local addresses".
add in field "do not use Proxy for addresses beginning with... "http://S44XXXXX
Your IP address is not authorised in the MINOS Webconfiguration, or has been refused by EXIT PROGRAM.Contact your administrator to use MINOSWEB2/CONFIG, and: (2)
Check for the server AND the client concerned:
- the configuration of the authorised IP addresses,
- the correct running of the exit program of the IP addresses control, if there is one.
This error appears in case of configuration of a workstation ID for the client IP address and the client concerned.
It occurs when log-on is requested in a new browser window and a session has already been opened and runs in another browser window. The name assigned to the new session to be opened is already given to the first session.
In this case you must open the new session from the first session in the menu "Session" - "New", or press CRTL-F1.

Ask for a key with the questionnaire www.ordirope.com/key_us.htm because your key is no longer valid.

The limit of use has been exceeded. Therefore you can only use five session at the same time. Contact the sales service to ask for software license details for more than five users.
Check in the the availability of the MINOS Web configuration: enter "MINOSWEB2/CONFIG"(2), then select option 2 from the menu and see if the file MINOSWEB_xx is available.
